Jaguar Maintenance Tips

Special Car, Special Services

Your Jaguar is a special car, so keep it well maintained and in great condition by giving it the special services it deserves. If you purchase a new or gently used vehicle, you're off to a great start because the manufacturer covers maintenance services for the first 60,000 miles or five years. Once you pass that point or if you purchase an older model, you'll need to take care of the maintenance plan yourself. If you're in the Cedar Park, Texas, area, you're still in luck! Dave's Ultimate Automotive is well equipped and staffed with superior certified technicians who can provide your prized car the routine preventive maintenance it needs.

Major Maintenance Points

Your luxury car's manufacturer outlines a service plan for your vehicle. We'll outline the basics for you here, but you can also find it in your owner's manual. Once you've driven 5,000-7,000 miles, you should have the automobile serviced. This includes oil and filter change, light check (headlights, signals, tail/brake), checking/topping of fluids, inspection of belts and hoses, tire services (air pressure check, rotation/balancing), and observation for undercarriage and/or body damage. At the 15,000 mile mark or one year, your auto needs a repeat of all the first service points as well as others. These include, checking the heat/air conditioning, ensuring proper wheel alignment, cleaning/replacing the air filter, checking wheel bearings, inspecting/repairing brakes and emergency brake, observing engine mount condition, and lubricating certain moving parts (fittings, hinges, locks, etc.).

All the Other Details

While our shop's primary focus is on mechanical services and repairs, there are other care points that need your attention. For example, keep the exterior of your vehicle clean. Washing it periodically or after driving in harsh conditions (such as brined/de-iced roads) removes contaminants that can lead to rust and/or other deterioration. You should also apply wax on a regular basis to protect your car's paint. If you see an area of minor damage (a scratch, nicked paint, etc.) attend to that before it becomes larger or allows rust to take hold. Your automobile's interior needs proper care, too. Clean spills and dirt as soon as possible to avoid permanent damage. Moisturize surfaces with appropriate products to prevent drying and cracking. This is particularly important for leather seats, allowing the surface to remain supple so that it won't crack. Customer care during scheduled services is important, as well. For that, you have Dave's Ultimate Automotive. We do everything possible to make your visit simple to schedule and convenient. We look forward to assisting you with all your Jaguar repair needs.
