Emissions Testing
Emissions Testing in Round Rock, TX
Come to Dave’s Ultimate Automotive for Your Annual Vehicle Inspection!
Does Your Vehicle Require an Emissions Test?
Yes, the state of Texas requires most gasoline-powered vehicles to pass an annual vehicle emission test as well as a safety inspection. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), in collaboration with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), runs Texas’s “Two-Step, One Sticker” program. This program requires non-exempt vehicles to pass an annual safety and emissions test to obtain or renew their vehicle registration. For those who just moved to our great state, you have 30 days to complete emissions testing. If you own a gas vehicle between two and 24 model years old, you must pass a smog test. Newer vehicles made in the last two model years, or made more than 24 years ago, in addition to diesel vehicles, are exempt from a smog inspection. Dave’s Ultimate Automotive is an official Texas state inspection station servicing the town of Round Rock, TX, and the Austin-Round Rock metro area, including Williamson County. We have ASE-Certified technicians ready to perform your emissions testing and provide any repairs should they be necessary.
We’re an Official Texas State Inspection Station
When drivers in Williamson County need a Texas smog check/emissions testing, they turn to Dave’s Ultimate Automotive, a DPS-certified inspection station. We have the personnel, experience, and diagnostic equipment to provide both emissions testing and emission repairs. Once your vehicle passes an emissions inspection, you’ll receive a Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) to submit when renewing your vehicle registration. Should your vehicle fall short, our team can make the appropriate repairs. We are your one-stop-shop whether you need emissions testing or general repair and maintenance. There’s no need to drive to multiple auto shops. If a problem is detected, we’ll provide an overview of what repairs are needed, and once you approve, we’ll get to work. Our technicians also recommend following the vehicle’s recommended maintenance schedule to avoid many of the mechanical issues that cause a car to fail inspection. Also, be sure to address any mechanical issues in advance of a vehicle inspection, including engine misfires and manufacturer recalls.
